During a set design course in college Joe discovered the thrill of water color painting.  From a few original beer influenced xmas cards in the 80’s to a one man show in  a Fells Point art gallery in 2006  Joe has continued his love for painting and hopes to make it a full time career via this web site and his home studio  “StudioJoeHead” in Baltimore. As an artist he is self taught but can trace his earliest influences back to his artist parents. Other influences were Baltimorean Glen Walker, Vincent Van Gogh, Picasso, Toulouse Lautrec, Jackson Pollock, Matisse, Warhol, Peter Max, Salvador Dali, the line drawings of John Lennon, James Thurber and the cartoons of Gary Larson.  He basically works with industrial acrylics “absconded” from his day job in commercial painting. Joe has decided against naming the pieces to avoid preconceptions of the images but does call them “acrylic one acts.”
